First I hand drew the line work in ink on A4 copy paper, then I scanned the images to my PC and edited in GIMP editor, my go-to for this style of art work. I had so much fun and hope you like what you see!

Examples of colouring: my designs with fillings…
Art by Roger R Whiteside, 2026. So. What I did was load the jpg files of these images straight into Infinite Painter on android. I proceeded to fill the inner areas of the designs with colour with the paint bucket fill tool. Simple as that! Have a go by downloading some designs from below and either print them out and colour by hand or in your favourite app on whatever device you like 😊💪

A hint at the near future…
This piece is a meditation on balance and flow — a conversation between red and green that twists like living calligraphy. It’s my way of letting symmetry breathe, letting colour speak, and letting the line wander until it finds its own truth.
